| Perhaps the most familiar picture of Sandwich,
apart from the Barbican, is the Guildhall. Now much enlarged, this
magnificent half-timbered building presides over an area that once was
home to the Cattle Market.
The town of Sandwich, one of the Cinque Ports, boasts many fine examples of medieval buildings. The picture on the right shows the premises formerly occupied by Major & Mrs. Holt's Battlefield Tours in Market Street (the main shopping centre).
